Zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) is native to the Americas. This crop provides vitamins A, C, and E, has high nutritional value, and is low in calories. In Ecuador, this vegetable is cultivated year-round in the coastal and highland regions. This research was conducted in the province of Tungurahua, canton of Ambato, parish of Atahualpa. The general objective of this research was to evaluate the longitudinal growth of zucchini (Cucurbita pepo L.) var. Ladoga F1 with the application of two nitrogen sources. A Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with a 2 x 2+1 factorial arrangement and three replicates per treatment was used, evaluating variables such as length, weight, diameter, number of fruits, and yield. The results showed that all fertilized treatments significantly outperformed the control. Treatment P2F2 (ammonium sulfate every 30 days) resulted in the greatest fruit length (20.22 cm), equatorial diameter (13.65 cm), weight (229.62 g), and yield (2300kg/ha). The control group showed the lowest values for all variables. While there were no statistically significant differences between the fertilized treatments, mathematical differences were observed, reflecting a positive response to nitrogen fertilization. It is concluded that the application of nitrogen sources promotes zucchini growth. Ammonium sulfate applied every 30 days showed greater efficiency; therefore, its use is recommended to improve production under similar growing conditions.
