Abstract
This study determined the utility of postoperative vocal rehabilitation in patients with
laryngeal cancer, analyzing techniques such as tracheoesophageal prosthesis,
esophageal speech, and electrolarynx. Using a comparative approach, the
effectiveness, cost, and accessibility of each technique were evaluated, as well as
their impact on social reintegration and the emotional well-being of patients. The
results showed that vocal rehabilitation was essential in improving quality of life and
social reintegration, with the tracheoesophageal prosthesis being highlighted as the
most effective, though costly. It was concluded that an integrated rehabilitation
approach, tailored to individual needs, was crucial for the complete recovery of
laryngectomized patients.

El presente estudio determinó la utilidad de la rehabilitación vocal postoperatoria en
pacientes con cáncer de laringe, analizando técnicas como la prótesis
traqueoesofágica, la voz erigmofónica y la electrolaringe. Mediante un enfoque
comparativo, se evaluó la efectividad sonora, el costo y la accesibilidad de cada
técnica, así como su impacto en la reintegración social y el bienestar emocional de
los pacientes. Los resultados mostraron que la rehabilitación vocal fue esencial para
mejorar la calidad de vida y la reintegración social, destacando la prótesis
traqueoesofágica como la más efectiva, aunque costosa. Se concluyó que una
rehabilitación integral, adaptada a las necesidades individuales, fue crucial para la
recuperación completa de los pacientes laringectomizados.
