Abstract
The present research project seeks to generate and conserve the green areas of the
Condor Battalion Railway Line in the San Vicente neighborhood, in order to strengthen
the tourist and cultural identity of the canton of Ambato in an area with tourist and
historical characteristics, through the review of case studies and documentary material.
Therefore, the possible causes for which the space is in a state of degradation will be
analyzed, through data collection techniques and observation sheets, for which a
methodology based on a qualitative and quantitative approach will be used.
As a result, the Urban Regeneration of the site will be proposed, through the
implementation of a modular linear park in the sector of the Condor Battalion railroad
line of the San Vicente neighborhood with new concentrations of multifunctional
equipment such as lighting, urban furniture and vernacular landscaping that will in turn
positively impact the area, which will focus on recovering the cultural history of the
place, highlighting it´s historical aspects that have endured for years.
Description
El presente proyecto de investigación busca regenerar y conservar las áreas verdes de la
Línea férrea Batallón cóndor del Barrio San Vicente, con fin de fortalecer la identidad
turística y cultural del cantón Ambato en una zona con características, turísticas e
históricas, a través de la revisión de casos de estudios y material documental.
Por consiguiente, se analizará las posibles causas por las cuales el espacio se encuentra
en un estado de degradación, mediante técnicas de recolección de datos y fichas de
observación, por lo cual se usará una metodología basada en un enfoque cualitativo y
cuantitativo.
Como resultado se propondrá la Regeneración Urbana del sitio, mediante la
implementación de un parque lineal modular en el sector de la línea férrea Batallón
cóndor del Barrio San Vicente con nuevas concentraciones de equipamientos
multifuncionales como luminarias, mobiliario urbano, vías de modalidad alternativas y
jardinería vernácula que esta a su vez impacten positivamente la zona, la cual se
enfocara en recuperar la historia cultura del lugar resaltando sus aspectos históricos que
han perdurado durante años.
