dc.descriptionIntroducción: El cáncer es una de las principales causas de muerte a nivel mundial, con alrededor de 18 millones de casos nuevos por año. En Latinoamérica se registran 2,8 millones de casos y 1,3 millones de muertes al año. En Ecuador, el 20% de personas desarrollan cáncer antes de los 75 años. La supervivencia ha mejorado, alcanzando 70% actualmente, sin embargo, los sobrevivientes presentan afectación en su calidad de vida por ansiedad, depresión e insomnio posterior al tratamiento. Métodos: Estudio cualitativo de alcance descriptivo y con enfoque fenomenológico. La muestra estuvo conformada por 7 participantes adultos en remisión o curados de la Parroquia Picaihua. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante entrevistas semiestructuradas, las cuales fueron analizadas según la teoría fundamentada identificando categorías en los ámbitos laboral, familiar, económico y psicológico. Resultados: Los resultados evidencian dificultades en el ámbito laboral para el reintegro por disminución de energía y capacidad física; en el familiar se fortalece la unión y apoyo; en el económico se genera alta carga de gastos médicos; y en el psicológico mayor susceptibilidad emocional. Conclusión: Concluimos que la superación del cáncer implica una compleja transición, con impactos multidimensionales. Mantener una actitud positiva, apoyo espiritual y motivación son clave. El respaldo familiar es crucial para mitigar el sufrimiento, y se destacan impactos específicos en lo laboral, familiar, económico y psicológico. La resiliencia, espiritualidad y apoyo multidisciplinario son fundamentales para la adaptación integral del sobreviviente.es_ES
dc.description.abstractIntroduction: Cancer is one of the main causes of death worldwide, with around 18 million new cases per year. In Latin America there are 2.8 million cases and 1.3 million deaths per year. In Ecuador, 20% of people develop cancer before the age of 75. Survival has improved, currently reaching 70%. However, survivors have an impact on their quality of life due to anxiety, depression and insomnia after treatment. Methods: Qualitative study of descriptive scope and with a phenomenological approach. The sample was made up of 7 adult participants in remission or cured from the Picaihua Parish. Data collection was carried out through semi-structured interviews, which were analyzed according to grounded theory, identifying categories in the work, family, economic and psychological spheres. Results: The results show difficulties in the workplace for reimbursement due to decreased energy and physical capacity; In the family, union and support are strengthened; In the economic sphere, a high burden of medical expenses is generated; and in the psychological, greater emotional susceptibility. Conclusion: We conclude that overcoming cancer involves a complex transition, with multidimensional impacts. Maintaining a positive attitude, spiritual support and motivation are key. Family support is crucial to mitigate suffering, and specific impacts on work, family, economic and psychological matters are highlighted. Resilience, spirituality and multidisciplinary support are essential for the comprehensive adaptation of the survivor.es_ES
