| Abstract: | Family functioning is the systemic relationship established among its members and the interactive capacity to face conflicts based on adaptability, cohesion, affectivity and respect, allowing the progressive development of each of its members; on the other hand, personality traits are considered as persistent patterns that identify each individual in the way he/she acts,feels and thinks. The objective of this research was to determine the relation ship between family functioning and personality traits in adolescents; a quantitative, correlational and nonexperimental cross-sectional design study was carried out; the population consisted of 179 adolescents, 97 females and 82 males with an age range of 14 to 19 years; the Family Functioning FF-SIL questionnaires and the IPDE (International Personality Disorders Examination) DSM-IV Module were applied for data collection. The results showed a negative correlation between family functioning and the following traits: paranoid, schizoid, schizotypal, schizotypal, antisocial, borderline and avoidant, and a positive correlation between the histrionic trait. |
| Description: | El funcionamiento familiar es la relación sistémica que se establece entre sus miembros y la capacidad interactiva para enfrentar los conflictos desde la adaptabilidad, cohesión, afectividad y respeto permitiendo el desarrollo progresivo de cada uno de sus integrantes, por otra parte, los rasgos de personalidad se consideran como patrones persistentes que identifican a cada individuo en su manera de actuar, sentir y pensar. La presente investigación tuvo com o objetivo determinar la relación entre el funcionamiento familiar y los rasgos de personalidad en adolescentes; se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo, correlacional y de diseño no experimental transversal; la población fue de 179 adolescentes, siendo 97 mujeres y 82 hombres con un rango de edad de 14 a 19 años; para la recopilación de datos se aplicó los cuestionarios de Funcionamiento Familiar FF-SIL y el IPDE (International Personality Disorders Examination) Módulo DSM -IV. Los resultados arrojaron que existe una correlación negativa entre el funcionamiento familiar y los rasgos: paranoide, esquizoide, esquizotípico, antisocial, lím ite y evitativo y una correlación positiva entre el rasgo histriónico |
