This research develops the architectural design of a Community Social Integration Center in the Bolívar parish, Pelileo town, intended for school-aged children and senior citizens, considered priority groups within the community. The proposal arises from the identification of the need for suitable spaces that promote social integration, cognitive development, community participation, and the physical and emotional well-being of these users. The study adopts a qualitative approach through documentary, bibliographic, and field research, complemented by interviews with specialized professionals, direct observation, and analysis of architectural precedents. Based on this methodology, design criteria oriented toward sensory, adaptive, and flexible architecture are identified, understood as a strategy capable of responding to the changing needs of different age groups and fostering inclusive spatial experiences. The architectural proposal incorporates principles of universal accessibility, functional environmental comfort, multisensory stimulation, and flexibility, with the purpose of strengthening intergenerational interaction and improving the quality of life of the users. It also aims to establish itself as a community facility that contributes to social cohesion, cultural strengthening, and the holistic development of the population of the Bolívar parish. As a result, the project proposes an infrastructure capable of responding to current social demands through inclusive, safe, and adaptable spaces, becoming a benchmark for community integration and well-being for vulnerable groups within the rural context of the Pelileo town.

This research focuses on the architectural design of a shelter center for adolescent girls in vulnerable situations, through the incorporation of sensory architecture criteria in the city of Ambato, specifically within the Izamba parish. The project is justified by the absence of specialized centers for adolescent girls aged 12 to 18 in Ambato. Although there are facilities for children aged 0 to 12 and for adolescent boys, there is no infrastructure specifically designed for girls in this age group. This gap highlights their social invisibility and the negative impact on their emotional well-being, positioning architecture as a key tool to create environments that support their psychological health. In response to this issue, the research aimed to identify spatial criteria related to sensory architecture. A qualitative and exploratory methodology was employed, which included bibliographic analysis and the study of relevant architectural precedents. Additionally, to better understand the users, their needs, and the dynamics of the center's spaces, semi-structured interviews were conducted with key stakeholders. This was complemented by a review of the regulations governing this type of infrastructure. The results revealed the importance of incorporating principles such as domesticity, multisensory stimulation, connection with nature, and spatial autonomy to create restorative environments. As a result, the architectural proposal is organized into zones structured by levels of privacy, ranging from administrative areas to residential ones, all articulated to ensure safety, privacy, and well-being. This, the project aims to respond sensitively to the emotional context of the sheltered adolescents, promoting an environment that supports their recovery and social reintegration.

This work develops the architectural design of a shelter for women victims of violence in the canton of Pujilí. This typology seeks to offer a transitory space with decent living conditions, from a perspective sensitive to care. The project is framed within the framework of social architecture with a gender approach, addressing needs that have been historically relegated by traditional institutional models. The research is justified by the urgent need to generate spaces that accompany processes of personal reconstruction, without reproducing logics of confinement or control. In Ecuador, the scarce availability of shelters, as well as their peripheral location and their limited territorial articulation, evidence a structural debt in the face of gender violence. Thus, we propose a design proposal that, from the architectural point of view, contributes to a sensitive infrastructure. A qualitative methodology combining grounded theory and phenomenological approach was applied. The interviews with professionals, the analysis of a case study, the normative review and the territorial diagnosis made it possible to identify fundamental needs for the development of the project. This approach integrated technical and contextual aspects of living in a shelter situation. The proposal proposes a spatial organization based on the domestic scale, with open, accessible and non-hierarchical environments. Strategies oriented to the depatriarchalization of space are incorporated, through project decisions that promote co-responsibility and care, responding to the conditions of the physical and social environment.
