This study examines the influence of artificial intelligence tools on the journalistic information verification processes developed by Lupa Media. The research addresses a specific concern: understanding how these technologies are incorporated into Ecuadorian fact-checking without replacing the professional judgment of the verification team. The methodology follows a quantitative approach supported by qualitative analysis. The quantitative component consisted of an analysis matrix applied to 150 verification pieces published by Lupa Media, classified according to fact-checking rating, content type, platform of origin, scope, and required verification process. In addition, a semi-structured interview was conducted with the organization’s executive director to interpret the actual use of AI tools within the editorial workflow. The results show that artificial intelligence mainly operates as an operational support tool in documentary tasks, social media monitoring, information organization, and preliminary analysis of multimedia content. However, it does not replace source verification, contextual interpretation, or the human assignment of verification ratings. The study concludes that the responsible integration of AI into fact-checking journalism requires internal protocols, methodological transparency, continuous training, and permanent human supervision, so that technology can strengthen efficiency without undermining journalistic credibility.

The general objective of the study was to determine the content distribution strategies that influenced the credibility of the Newspaper Ambateñito on the Facebook platform. It was carried out in a context of digital transformation, in which social networks are configured as the main information channels in Ecuador. The methodology used consisted of a mixed approach, which integrated the quantitative analysis of seventy Facebook posts with semistructured interviews with members of the editorial team. This combination made it possible to establish a relationship between interaction metrics and perceptions of credibility. The results indicated that the medium predominantly used image and text formats, reaching 64.29%. Credibility stood at 70% at an average level; however, deficiencies were observed in terms of transparency, with 70% considered low, and in trust in sources, where 58.6% of them were classified as never reliable. Although the information accuracy reached a high level of 68.6%, the interaction with the audience was poor, with 47.1% of it classified as weak and 38.6% considered null. This situation limited the perception of closeness and trust. The interviews confirmed that the editorial team gave priority to accuracy and verification, although it lacked formal protocols and digital participation strategies. In conclusion, it was demonstrated that the credibility of the media is conditioned both by the veracity of the information provided and by its ability to promote dialogue with the audience

Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) have created new forms of interaction in society, making it possible to include people with disabilities in the Information Society; however, this possibility is not yet open to everyone, given several factors, including economic ones. There are now digital devices and tools that facilitate access to information, while at the same time, initiatives are being incorporated from both the public and private spheres in an attempt to ensure equal conditions in the use of these instruments, which make greater opportunities possible in different fields, where technology is a strategic ally. The present contribution presents, in part, a reality about the digital divide that exists in the area of disabilities and its relationship with the difficulties of access to ICT. It includes interesting criteria on issues inherent to inclusive education, which point to the State as the main guarantor of this right and thus prevent gaps in inequality, discrimination and exclusion of persons with disabilities in Ecuador. The media and channels most used by people with visual impairment to obtain information are identified, based on a qualitative analysis obtained from interviews with the target audience. The purpose was to find out which medium is most accessible to them and facilitates the effective transmission and reception of the message. From these results, certain recommendations are concluded that give way to the proposal and that aspire to become a viable alternative to generate spaces that allow for greater inclusion in the labor, educational, social and cultural areas, but above all, in terms of the Information Society, to make them visible in a world that is projected to an increasingly virtual scenario. One of the most important aspects of these actions is training, with the participation of professionals with experience in disabilities and ICTs. This will facilitate a process that motivates participants. All this accompanied by and that an adequate promotion, will make possible that more people with visual disability will take the initiative to incorporate themselves to the learning of the handling of digital technological tools.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY Media convergence and new technologies have modified the routines of journalists and journalists in content production. The activities related to social communication are under digital scrutiny and require knowledge, proficiencies and practical skills from the professionals. The curriculums for the courses of Social Communication and Journalism in Ecuador do not consider these new technologies as a transversal axis in the training of new professionals. This contribution shows the academic support to the future social communicators that are formed at the Bolivar State University and its relationship with the requirements of digital communication, as well as the daily problems faced by professionals in the field of work, as they deal with new concepts, languages and practices.
