Carrera de Idiomas., 2015-09-11) Landázuri Álvarez, Cynthia Alejandra; Chimbo Cáceres, Elsa MayorieThis research shows us how cognitive strategies help in the development of English vocabulary as these allow students to have an effective learning. The results of the survey show the low use of cognitive strategies in the teaching-learning process. Also, the low use of planning of relevant and motivating activities that make students interest in the language. From this survey I designed activities with each one of the cognitive strategies according to the students’ needs in order to provide the teachers some materials to improve their methodology and make their students develop the vocabulary effectively and use their cognitive part of the brain because at the moment to use reasoning, students can achieve their goals and make a most significant learning.
