Item El debate como estrategia para el desarrollo oral en los estudiantes de sexto grado de Educación General Básica de la unidad educativa Sagrada Familia, de la ciudad de Ambato(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Básica, 2025-01-20) Chicaiza Samaniego Verónica Jacqueline; Mera Constante Medardo Alfonso; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación BásicaThe objective of this research was to analyze debate as a strategy for the development of oral expression in sixth grade students of General Basic Education of the “Sagrada Familia” Educational Unit of the city of Ambato. The methodology used had a mixed methodological approach (qualitative and quantitative) and a non-experimental, cross-sectional study was designed since the study variables were not manipulated to evaluate the advances in the students' communicative skills after participating in debate activities; the level of research was descriptive, with bibliographic and field modality; the population was 27 students; a checklist was used as an evaluation instrument to analyze the students' oral expression; and a semi-structured interview with the teacher of the institution was used. The line of research corresponds to the analysis of the impact of debate as a strategy for the development of communication skills. The conclusions of this work showed that debate is a strategy that contributes to the development of oral expression, but that in the classroom it still presents certain limitations. Likewise, the results of the observation of participation in the debate and the development of oral expression show limitations since it has not been fully developed in the classroom.
