Carrera de Idiomas., 2015-09-18) Cabrera Mejía, Tamara Lissette; Sulca Guale, Manuel XavierThere has been a research based on the technique "SQ3R" identifying the problem the students from the “Unidad Temporal Bolivar” have at the moment to understand a text in English, and later I set out some objectives for this work in order to obtain all the necessary information, which is exposed in the theoretical framework based on previous researches. I made a field research which consists in a direct connection with the students. The surveys made to the students and the class observation made to teacher helped to measure the reading comprehension level and how difficult it is for them to understand new vocabulary in context. Moreover, by analyzing the results I could conclude that the students should use an updated technique that can help them to understand different types of readings in English. Finally, I made a proposal based on an work book that contains readings from the book that students use throughout the school year but including the technique "SQ3R" and a guide for the teacher in order to help the students to manage this technique easily and in the future they will do it by themselves not only with that book but also with any reading in English.
