The purpose of this research was to analyze how mini-athletics influences the teachinglearning process of running technique in students of General Basic Secondary Education. We worked with 18 students of the Gregoire Girard Educational Unit, during six weeks, applying a pedagogical proposal based on playful and structured activities typical of mini athletics. Biomechanical aspects such as hip, knee and ankle angles, contact and flight times, as well as qualitative variables such as body alignment, braking and regularity of movement were evaluated using Kinovea software. The results showed a marked improvement between the initial and final evaluation. At the beginning, 55.6% of the students had inadequate technique, but after the intervention, 72.2% reached an adequate or highly adequate level. The statistical T-Student test confirmed that the differences were significant (p ≤ 0.05), thus supporting the hypothesis that mini-athletics contributes positively to the technical learning of running. In summary, this experience demonstrates that mini-athletics is not only a fun way to learn, but also an effective strategy to improve technical skills. The combination of technological tools, movement analysis and active pedagogy makes this proposal a valuable, inclusive and easy-to-apply alternative in school environments
