Item Diseño de calzado racing para corredores de autos entre 18 y 30 años de edad en la zona 3 del país, implementando materiales funcionales(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA POSGRADO MAESTRIA DE DISEÑO, 2025-08-12) Chaglla Chango Walter Santiago; Escobar Guanoluisa Taña Elizabeth; UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA POSGRADO MAESTRIA DE DISEÑORacing footwear design for racers between the ages of 18 and 30 requires the integration of functional materials that balance safety, performance, and ergonomics. Drivers demand fire-resistant footwear (such as Nomex or treated leather) with thermoregulatory and breathable properties to prevent heat fatigue during prolonged competitions. Materials such as TPU offer flexibility and abrasion resistance, while laminated neoprene provides waterproofing and a dynamic fit, adapting to rapid movements in confined cockpits. Footwear ergonomics are optimized through high-cut designs for ankle support, slipresistant soles, and insoles with selective cushioning that improve pedal sensitivity. Custom fit systems (integrated laces or closures) ensure precise maneuvering, while engineered mesh in strategic areas promote ventilation without compromising protection. Technological innovation includes printing processes on materials and new branding strategies to generate a positive and desirable image in the consumer's mind. Materials with different integrated self-healing characteristics extend the lifespan of footwear. Current trends in athletic footwear design for young runners focus on the incorporation of innovative materials that optimize performance, comfort, and sustainability. Particularly noteworthy are midsoles (prefabricated soles), combined with EVA and a rubber outsole. Additionally, knitted fabrics are used in the upper, which offer breathability and reduce the overall weight of the footwear—aspects especially valued by young runners seeking speed and coolness during training or competition.
