In older adults the aging process modifies the center of gravity, reflexes, balance, flexibility. These conditions decrease the quality of gait and determine a potential risk of falls in the elderly. This research aims to improve the quality of walking in older adults through a program of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy. This research is of quantitative study, 30 participants attended during 12 weeks of intervention. The evaluation was performed with physiotherapeutic tests Mini Best Test and UP & GO, both were applied at the beginning of the sessions. The last evaluation was made after the last session of the exercise program. An intervention program with exercises in both sitting and standing was designed according to the physical-functional capacity of the population with daily sessions of 45 minutes 3 to 4 times per week. After the application of the protocol of therapeutic exercises accompanied by music therapy and when making the final evaluations it is concluded that positive results were obtained in the quality of walking in aspects such as coordination, speed and breadth of passage in relation to the initial evaluation

In this way, it has been considered convenient to carry out the micro research aimed at analyzing the progress of the older indigenous adults in the high communities of Quisapincha, Ambato canton, Tungurahua province, so that it can be known that there is significant physical deterioration in the older indigenous adults. In the present investigation a descriptive, quantitative and observational study method was used that included 30 older adults between 70 and 93 years of age, selected from the communities of Putugleo, Calhuasig Chico and Illahua Chico of the parish mentioned above, as an instrument for data collection was used the Tinetti Test which revealed that the great majority of people evaluated go through a general wear in the muscle-skeletal system leading to difficulties inherent to aging and therefore modification in the gait.

(Universidad Técnica de Ambato - Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud - Carrera de Terapia Física, 2019-02-01) Osorio Logroño, Valeria Alexandra; Latta Sánchez, María Augusta Lcda. Mg.
Currently there are few relevant data on the topic in Ecuador, so that research is important since it will investigate on the cognitive decline and joint mobility of the lower limb in older adults who have disorders associated with dementia, since at the time of performing dual task or walking exercises these are motor acts where there is the combined action between cognitive function and the musculo-skeletal system. The research according to the method of study is descriptive and observational. In addition it is quali-quantitative as used the mini-mental test and the statistical data that shows the platform are handled. The study was conducted in the Telerehabilitation and Analysis Laboratory of the human body of the Physical Therapy Course at the Faculty of Health Sciences. The research line of this study is epidemiology. And it is concluded that there is a correlation between cognitive impairment and joint mobility of the lower limb, since all the older adults of the research have cognitive impairment and do not reach the standard values, therefore they have lower joint range.
