(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Inicial, 2025-06-23) Vega López Vanessa Belén; San Lucas Solórzano Carolina Elizabeth; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Inicial
Coloring is an artistic and motor activity that not only stimulates creativity and concentration in preparatory-level children but also plays a fundamental role in the development of essential skills required for handwriting alignment. The main issue identified was the inadequate development of these skills, especially in hand-eye coordination, directionality, size awareness and graphic strokes. These aspects are crucial in the process of learning to write, and their absence may lead to difficulties in future academic performance. The objective was to analyze the coloring technique and its influence on the development of handwriting line skills in preparatory-level children. A quantitative approach was applied to, with a basic research type, descriptive scope, and a non- experimental design. This allowed the collection and analysis of numerical data related to coloring and the development of these skills without manipulating variables, observing the results in a natural context. Data collection was carried out through a rating scale survey, yielding a reliability level of 0,78 according to Cronbach´s Alpha. The results showed that most of the preparatorylevel children at ¨Ambato de los Ángeles¨ educational unit do not demonstrate adequate development of handwriting line skills. Therefore, coloring activities are suggested as a didactic resource to strengthen these skills in the classroom, leaving the door open for future research that contributes to improving writing processes in the early years of schooling.
