This research aims to analyze the influence of cultural diversity on the learning of Ecuadorian History in the Social Studies subject, focusing on sixth-grade students at “Las Américas” Basic Education School in the city of Ambato. The study recognizes cultural diversity as a key factor for enriching educational processes, strengthening identity, and promoting mutual respect. The methodology employed a mixed approach, with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and descriptive design. Surveys were used to collect data from students, with the purpose of exploring their perceptions regarding the integration of cultural content, teaching strategies, and the connection between historical learning and personal identity. The findings reveal the presence of pedagogical practices that seek to make cultural realities visible and support a contextualized historical education. Teaching experiences that include culturally relevant topics and activities have been identified, which help recognize traditions, ancestral knowledge, and community expressions. It is concluded that strengthening teacher training, curricular contextualization, and the use of culturally appropriate teaching resources is essential to consolidate an intercultural approach that enhances meaningful learning of Ecuadorian History.
