Los procesos cognitivos y la comprensión lectora
(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía, 2025-01-16) Tusa Tusa Helen Eliana; Gloria Maricela Simbaña Veloz; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Psicopedagogía
This research work studies the impact between cognitive processes and reading comprehension in sixth grade students of General Basic Education of the Mario Cobo Barona Educational Unit. This research is based on the recognition that cognitive processes, such as perception, attention, memory, reasoning and learning, are very important for the development of reading skills, and consequently for school performance. Likewise, in relation to reading comprehension, dimensions such as sentence comprehension, text comprehension and oral comprehension are analyzed. For the analysis of the connection of these variables, two fundamental tools were used: the Stroop Test to evaluate the cognitive processes mentioned above, and the PROLEC-R Test to evaluate reading skills. Both tests allowed obtaining more precise statistical data on the cognitive processes and their influence on reading comprehension through a quantitative and qualitative methodology, by means of a descriptive correlational design of the sample of 85 sixth grade students, selected under strict conditions that guarantee the reliability of the results obtained.
