Cl. Mg.The quality of sleep in students is an essential factor for proper school performance and academic stress, since it participates in several cognitive processes of learning, so the general objective of this study was to determine whether there is a relationship between sleep quality and academic stress in students who are in their third year of high school. The study had a quantitative approach of correlational scope, non-experimental cross-sectional design. A sociodemographic survey, the Pittsburg Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and the second version of the Systemic Cognitive Inventory for the Study of Academic Stress (SISCO SV-21) were applied to a sample of 190 students, 47 females and 153 males. It was obtained that the participants have poor sleep quality (65.3%), while in academic stress the predominant levels are severe (40.5%) and moderate (35.3%) which shows that the students have high levels of academic stress. Finally, it is observed that there is a slight positive correlation (Rho = 0.451, p<0.01) between sleep quality and academic stress in students who made up the present study.
