(Universidad Técnica de Ambato/ Facultad de Ciencias de la Salud /Carrera de Psicología Clínica, 2022-03-01) Pazmiño Lascano, Daysi Fernanda; Ponce Delgado, Águeda del Rocío Dra.
The main objective of this research study was to validate the social skills scale EHS in the university population. This research study was a quantitative, non-experimental, descriptive, transversal, and factorial design. This study was applied to 844 students whose ages were from 18 and older belonging to different universities in Ecuador who were chosen under inclusion and exclusion criteria. The gather the results, the researcher applied a social skills scale EHS to identify the social skills levels. The statistical analysis of the information collected, it was determined that the validity obtained through the item-test correlation ranges from moderate to strong because most of the elements of the scale maintain a correlation >0.50. On the other hand, it was applied an extraction technique to the exploratory factor analysis obtaining an explained total variance of 51.270% and the regrouping of 7 factors. In the confirmatory factor analysis, the VARIMAX rotation procedure was performed, which showed an acceptable fit between the new factors and the scale items. Moreover, the results obtained from the internal consistency method, a 0.899 reliability was obtained in relation to the global scale, while for the derived scores a 0.603 - 0.700 was obtained according to Cronbach's Alpha. It was concluded that the social skills scale EHS is a valid and reliable instrument for use in the assessment of the university population in the Ecuadorian context.
