    Dependencia a videojuegos y su relación con la impulsividad en estudiantes

    Video games are a popular form of entertainment for adolescents because through their stories they allow users to explore a new reality; however, their excessive use can interfere with the fulfillment of daily activities; that is why the objective of this research was to determine the relationship between video game dependence and impulsivity in students; The research was quantitative, with a non-experimental design and a cross-sectional study in a population of 403 students between 14 and 18 years old (173 males and 230 females), using the Video Game Dependence Test (TDV) and the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11C); a low inverse negative correlation between the study variables was evidenced, in addition, the predominance of the high level of dependence on video games in the population with 46. 7%, followed by moderate dependence with 38.0% and low dependence with 15.4%, also, in terms of impulsivity, motor impulsivity stands out in the population with 28.6%. Finally, significant differences were observed between the levels of dependence on video games and the sector of residence.
