It was developed under a mixed approach, combining a bibliographic-documentary and field modality. The study was framed within the line of research on social and educational behavior. The population consisted of 30 students and 1 teacher of General Basic Education (EGB). For data collection, a survey was administered to the students and an interview to the teacher, both instruments validated by two experts in the field. The results were analyzed, interpreted and discussed by means of tables. From the data obtained, it was evidenced that the implementation of playful activities generates a greater interest in students for learning, which in turn facilitates the improvement in their academic performance. It is concluded that gamification has a positive influence on the teaching-learning process, promoting meaningful learning in the area of Social Studies.
