(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte, 2025-01-17) Ledesma Tigse Adriana Micaela; Castro Acosta Washington Ernesto; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte
The present study focuses on the impact of soccer ball mastery on eye-pedal coordination of students of basic general education at the "Bolívar" Educational Unit. This topic is relevant, since the development of motor skills such as eyepedal coordination is essential for the sports performance and overall well-being of students. The general objective of the research is to determine the impact of soccer practice on this motor skill. The methodology used was quantitative and applied, with a pre-experimental, field and longitudinal design, using an analytical-synthetic and comparative approach. The Wilcoxon statistical test was used to analyze the data, and the results indicated a p value less than 0.05, evidencing the lack of normality in the sample and the need to apply non-parametric tests. The findings of the study reveal that soccer ball mastery has a significant positive impact on eye-pedal coordination. At the initial assessment, 23.1% of the students had a low score in this skill, while 61.5% were at a normal level and 15.4% reached a high level. This allowed us to identify specific areas for improvement and facilitate the implementation of programs aimed at optimizing coordination. Through activities focused on ball control, a notable improvement in the students' eye-pedal coordination was observed. The post-intervention results showed that xiii 100% of the participants reached a high level in this skill, suggesting the effectiveness of the applied program. These results not only highlight the importance of soccer practice in physical development, but also promote significant progress in essential coordination skills. However, an important limitation of the study was the time available, since only two hours per week were available to carry out the project. This time restriction could have affected the depth of the activities implemented and, therefore, the results obtained. In conclusion, the study reaffirms the relevance of mastering the soccer ball as an effective tool to improve eye-pedal coordination in students of basic general secondary education, suggesting the integration of these practices in the school curriculum to promote the comprehensive development of students.
