Item ALTERACIÓN EN LA BIOMECÁNICA DE LA CARRERA EN ATLETAS AMATEUR AL LLEGAR AL UMBRAL ANAERÓBICO(2025-07-21) Hernández Cuenca, Adriana Estefanía; Cantuña Vallejo, Paul Fernando; Universidad Técnica de Ambato / Facultad de Ciencias de Salud / Carrera de FisioterapiaThe present study aimed to show changes in the biomechanics of running when reaching the anaerobic threshold. Runners face challenges in their technique when reaching high-intensity activities such as the anaerobic threshold (AT), these alterations include changes in stride length, joint angles, etc. The study's methodology focused on evaluating biomechanical measurements of 30 participants at two key time points, before and after reaching AT. Significant differences were identified in knee flexion, stride length, and hip extension in the lateral plane, and a significant decrease in right heel eversion and increased right pelvic drop in the lateral plane; in addition, the sign of the scissor march increases significantly when reaching the AT. In relation to heart rate and oxygen consumption, average values of 180.6 bpm and 43.4 ml/kg/min were established, respectively, considered within the normal values for the age group. A negative correlation between right heel eversion and heart rate was also evidenced. In conclusion, the study confirms that biomechanical alterations occur in the running of amateur runners when they reach the AT, which is important for physiotherapists and coaches when designing interventions that optimize running technique and prevent injuries in runners.
