The present technical project is directed in the design, construction and funcionality test of a piston pump, the same that is constituted of a Michell Banki and Pelton turbine, added to these a diaphragm pump. The project was designed with the purpose of obtaining a piston type pump that adapts to the design and technical specifications of rotary pumps in rigorous conditions. In the theoretical and analytical part, the pump was designed with 3 pistons achieving a more uniform discharge, likewise through the operating ranges of each rotary pump such as the output power, rpm, flow and pumping height it was achieved to size and select the elements that make up the pump. The equipment was built with material that absorbs the vibrations such as AA6063 aluminum for the casing, while for the pistons was used 304 stainless steel due to its great resistance to corrosion and temperature changes. At the start-up with each turbine were obtained pumping values represented in graphs of flow vs. height as well as pressure vs. height, in addition in addition a comparison was made between the performance of the piston pump versus the diaphragm pump, which resulted that the piston pump, exceeds a flow difference between 20 to 36 lt / min, besides it was determined that it is 10 percent more efficient, so the piston pump has better characteristics applied to turbines.
