(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte, 2025-07-04) Cuchiparte Huaraca Johana Salomé; Pereira Valdez Martha Judith; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Pedagogía de la Actividad Física y Deporte
The objective of this research was to determine the incidence of rhythmic movements to improve gross motor coordination by means of a rhythmic strategies plan for students of Elementary General Basic Education of the “Semillas de Vida” Educational Unit during the period March - July 2025. The research was based on a quantitative approach, with a pre-experimental design that allowed comparing the levels of gross motor coordination before and after the intervention. A reliable instrument to evaluate gross motor coordination, such as the KTK test, was applied to a selected sample. The intervention proposal focused on activities that integrated games, songs, dance therapy, aimed at stimulating skills such as balance, displacement, bilateral coordination and jumps, tests that are focused with the KTK test. The results showed significant improvements in the motor skills of the students after the application of the intervention program. Likewise, an increase in the motivation and active participation of the children was observed. Finally, the research shows that the different rhythmic strategies do have an impact as an effective tool to strengthen motor skills in the school environment, recommending their incorporation into the physical education curriculum in the early years of schooling.
