(Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Inicial, 2025-01-29) Carriel Pavón Karla Patricia; Ballesteros Casco Tamara Yajaira; Universidad Técnica de Ambato-Facultad de Ciencias Humanas y de la educación -Carrera de Educación Inicial
The research paper titled “The Reflective Listening Technique in the Development of Auditory Memory in Children Aged 4 to 5 Years” addresses a fundamental issue in early education: strengthening auditory capacity as a basis for meaningful learning. This study was conducted at the Fiscomisional Educational Unit “Tirso de Molina” and aims to demonstrate how the application of the reflective listening technique contributes to the development of auditory memory in children of this age group. The methodology employed was quantitative, using a pre-experimental design. Instruments such as observation sheets were applied in two phases: pretest and post-test, which allowed for measuring the impact of the activities conducted. During the research process, pedagogical interventions were carried out based on playful and reflective dynamics, including the use of audio materials, stories, and group activities. The results obtained show significant progress in the development of children's auditory memory following the implementation of the reflective listening technique. There was a notable increase in sound retention, auditory discrimination, and sustained attention. In the post-test, 96.8 % of the children acquired skills that were previously at initial levels, highlighting the positive impact of the methodology used. Based on these findings, pedagogical strategies were designed that integrate activities such as repeating sound sequences, reflective feedback, and identifying sounds related to previous experiences. These strategies promote not only the development of auditory memory but also cognitive, social, and emotional skills essential for comprehensive learning in children. In conclusion, the reflective listening technique is presented as an innovative and effective tool for enhancing auditory memory development in children aged 4 to 5 years, setting a precedent for implementing meaningful pedagogical practices in early education
