Clinical laboratories are institutions directed to the biological, microbiological, and biochemical analysis of different patient samples; resulting in the generation of data, which will serve for the diagnosis, control and monitoring of patients; Therefore, it is necessary to maintain quality control of all laboratory processes, that is, of the preanalytical, analytical and post-analytical phases. The main objective of this research was focused on designing an optimization plan to improve the performance of the Quality Management of the Analytical phase of the "OMEGA" Clinical Laboratory, focusing on the most frequent analytes of blood chemistry, through the statistical analysis of the data obtained from carrying out controls. The methodology used was based on a mixed approach; being a direct descriptive, observational research; whose modality was documentary and laboratory research. Thus, after the collection and analysis of data from glucose, cholesterol, triglycerides, urea, creatinine, and uric acid controls, it was evidenced that each one presented a violation of a series of rules established by Westgard, demonstrating that there are errors. both systematic and random within the "OMEGA" Clinical Laboratory. Concluding that there are critical points within the laboratory under study due to the lack of statistical quality control, preventing the detection of errors; Therefore, it is recommended that the procedures of the analyzed phase be standardized, to maintain adequate control; maintaining constant staff training regarding quality control practices; in addition to implementing an optimization plan to improve the performance of Quality Management within said institution.
