dc.descriptionLa Esteatosis hepática no alcohólica (NAFLD) se considera una enfermedad generalmente asintomática, caracterizada por la acumulación de grasa ectópica a nivel de los hepatocitos, sin un consumo tóxico de alcohol, la prevalencia global se estima en un 24% , hasta el 80% de los pacientes diabéticos presentan NAFLD, diversos mecanismos fisiopatológicos aún no bien establecidos relacionados con la resistencia a la insulina (RI) tanto periférica como hepática, promueve la esteatosis y el desarrollo de NAFLD, la biopsia hepática constituye el estudio gold estándar para el diagnóstico, el tratamiento se base en cambio e n de estilo de vida fundamentados en dieta y ejercicios , aun se require de mayores investigaciones para el uso de los fármacos que mejoran la insulinoresistencia. Para esta revisión se realizó una búsqueda en distintas bases de datos como: Pubmed, SciencieDirect, Medline, Elsevier, Google Scholar, Scielo y New England Journal of Medicine desde el 2017 al 2022.es_ES
dc.description.abstractNon-alcoholic steatosis of the liver (NAFLD) is considered a generally asymptomatic disease, characterized by the accumulation of ectopic fat at the hepatocyte level, without toxic alcohol consumption, the global prevalence is estimated at 24%, up to 80%. % of diabetic patients present NAFLD, various pathophysiological mechanisms not yet well established related to both peripheral and hepatic insulin resistance (IR), promotes steatosis and the development of NAFLD, liver biopsy is the gold standard study for diagnosis, the treatment is based instead on a lifestyle based on diet and exercise, further research is still required for the use of drugs that improve insulin resistance. For this review, a search was carried out in different databases such as: Pubmed, SciencieDirect, Medline, Elsevier, Google Scholar, Scielo and New England Journal of Medicine from 2017 to 2022.es_ES
