dc.descriptionThe project has as purpose the design of didactic material that let improve the teaching process in an innovative way, for Mathematics’ area in the first year of Primary Education at "Gabriela Mistral" Institution, in Latacunga city, Cotopaxi province. To collect theoretical information and data books and web pages were used, confronting them with interviews and surveys to authorities and teachers, as well as experts in design. It allowed verifying the need of using didactic material to potentiate the teaching-learning process at the institution. The target audience is children, so an observation index card was carried out to identify what happen with the people involved in education. For this purpose, it was developed a product to satisfy the need that the institution has. This is a three-dimensional didactic material which will achieve that the students don´t get tired in class; on the contrary, the content will be motivating and visually attractive. That is, the illustrations are focus on children as builders of their own knowledge and on teachers as guide of them. It is to improve the understanding and acquisition of knowledge that lead to a meaningful learning. In addition, this material is a book that accomplish with its function in the learning process. It can be manipulated and visualized clearly and easily by the whole educational community.es_ES
