Abstract

In the digital age, access to the Internet and social networks has become almost ubiquitous among young people. However, this virtual environment, which offers countless opportunities for learning and socializing, also presents significant risks. One of the most alarming problems is grooming, a type of online sexual harassment that targets children and adolescents. This phenomenon occurs when adults communicate with minors through digital platforms with the intention of manipulating and sexually exploiting them. This project aims to explore the phenomenon of grooming, its implications and the strategies needed to prevent it. It emphasizes the importance of educating parents and minors about the risks associated with internet use, as well as the need to create a safer digital environment. In addressing this issue, the aim is not only to inform about grooming, but also to empower families and communities to work together to protect the most vulnerable. It highlights the urgent need to implement preventive strategies and educational tools to help parents protect their children from these dangers. The study also addresses the particular challenge faced by single-parent families, where a single person must assume responsibility for monitoring and educating about the risks associated with grooming, which can hinder their ability to do so effectively. It also proposes solutions based on three fundamental pillars: digital education, social awareness and the development of technological resources that facilitate online protection. It emphasizes the importance of collaboration between families, schools and the legal framework to create a safer digital environment for minors. Finally, combating grooming requires a joint and constant effort. It is essential not only to inform parents and educators, but also to involve children in the creation of responsible and safe habits in their use of the Internet
