dc.descriptionThe research project focuses on optimizing the design of roof tents for off-road activities in Ecuador, taking advantage of the local industry due to the lack of industrialization of these products in the country, where they are currently only imported. For optimization, guiding steps were developed to improve the design, focusing on performance, durability and user experience. The main off-road activities and requirements for installing and constructing a rooftop tent were investigated. In addition, features and construction systems of existing tents were analyzed to identify design improvements and relevant accessories. The analysis included both literature and field research. As a result, a table was created that specifies the key characteristics of current tents, facilitating the understanding of technical and production factors, and a series of guiding steps were developed that facilitate the optimization of rooftop tent construction. This process determined that optimizing rooftop tent design not only improves the performance and durability of the tents, but also makes them more attractive and competitive for campers and off-road enthusiasts.es_ES
dc.description.abstractEl proyecto de investigación se centra en optimizar el diseño de carpas de techo para actividades off-road en Ecuador, aprovechando la industria local debido a la falta de industrialización de estos productos en el país, donde actualmente solo se importan. Para la optimización, se desarrollaron pasos guía que mejoran el diseño, enfocándose en el desempeño, durabilidad y experiencia del usuario. Se investigaron las principales actividades off-road y los requisitos para instalar y construir una carpa de techo. Además, se analizaron características y sistemas de construcción de las carpas existentes para identificar mejoras en el diseño y accesorios relevantes. El análisis incluyó tanto bibliografía como investigación de campo. Como resultado, se creó una tabla que especifica las características clave de las carpas actuales, facilitando la comprensión de los factores técnicos y productivos, además se desarrolló una serie de pasos guía los cuáles facilitan la optimización en la construcción de un rooftop tent. Este proceso determinó que la optimización del diseño de los rooftop tent no solo mejora el rendimiento y durabilidad de las carpas, sino que también las hace más atractivas y competitivas para campistas y entusiastas del todoterreno.es_ES
