| dc.description | The present research study, with the main objective of analyzing the productive concentration and employment in the canton of Ambato during the period 2009 - 2022. Information was obtained from secondary data, such as the tabulated database of the National Survey of Employment, Unemployment and Underemployment (ENEMDU), and cantonal GVA data by sector through the national accounts statistics of the Central Bank of Ecuador (BCE). The methodology was based on a mixed approach, on the one hand, the qualitative approach, which allows the description of the variables and their behavior, and the quantitative approach, which allowed relating the incidence between the variables under study, the econometric model of multiple linear regression by least squares was used. The main results to be highlighted are that Ambato has a low productive concentration, due to productive and economic development in several sectors, and it was concluded that being a canton economically not dependent on a single sector, there is a negative relationship between productive concentration and employment, because the higher the productive concentration, the lower the employment and vice versa. And it should be noted that being a diversified canton has contributed to greater employability and labor mobility in the face of economic shocks. | |
| dc.description.abstract | El presente estudio de investigación, con el principal objetivo analizar la concentración productiva y el empleo en el cantón Ambato durante el periodo 2009 – 2022. Se obtuvo la información de datos secundarios, como la base de datos tabulados de la Encuesta Nacional del Empleo, Desempleo y Subempleo (ENEMDU), y los datos del VAB cantonal por sectores mediante de las estadísticas de cuentas nacionales del Banco Central del Ecuador (BCE). Se fundamento a partir de la metodología un enfoque mixto, por un lado, el enfoque cualitativo, que permite la descripción de las variables y su comportamiento, y el enfoque cuantitativo, que permitió relacionar la incidencia entre las variables en estudio, se utilizó el modelo econométrico de regresión lineal múltiple por mínimos cuadrados. Los principales resultados a destacar que Ambato tiene baja concentración productiva, por desarrollo productivo y económico en varios sectores, y se concluyó que el ser un cantón económicamente no dependiente de un solo sector, existe una relación negativa de la concentración productiva hacia el empleo, porque entre mayor sea la concentración productiva, se disminuye el empleo y viceversa. Y destaca que al ser un cantón diversificado ha contribuido que exista mayor empleabilidad y movilidad laboral ante shocks económicos. | |
