Diseño de una vajilla ecológica para el consumo de comida rápida en entornos urbanos de la ciudad de Ambato

Abstract

The project focuses on the design and development of eco-friendly tableware aimed primarily at fast food consumption in urban areas of the city of Ambato, more specifically in the urban parish of Huachi Chico. The growth in fast food consumption in the city has led to a significant increase in the use of single-use plastic containers, which has a negative impact on the environment. Given this problem, it is important to raise awareness of sustainable alternatives that help reduce waste and seek more sustainable practices for food consumption. That is why this research analyzes the local context, identifying the external and internal factors that influence the use of eco-friendly tableware in the fast food niche. The main objective is to provide a design proposal that responds to user needs and contributes to reducing the environmental impact in the city. The information and data collected through interviews, surveys, and observation allow indirect and direct users to recognize the importance of implementing and participating in the use of eco-friendly packaging. However, it also highlights the difficulties related to production, such as costs, and identifies factors that directly influence fast food consumption.
