Satisfacción sexual y bienestar psicológico en estudiantes universitarios

Abstract
Sexual satisfaction has been conceptualized as the final stage of the sexual
response cycle and one of the major generators of pleasure; on the other hand,
psychological well-being is understood as the evaluation that an individual has
about his or her life according to his or her positive and negative experiences.
The objective of this study was to determine the relationship between sexual
satisfaction and psychological well-being in university students. The sample
used was 120 students between 18 and 30 years of age from the Faculty of
Human Sciences and Education of a university in the city of Ambato. The
research had a quantitative - non-experimental approach with cross-sectional
and correlational scope. The New Sexual Satisfaction Scale (NSSS) of Stulhofer
created in 2010 and the Psychological Well-Being Scale of Ryff adapted by Díaz
in 2006 in Spain were used to measure the variables. The results showed that
there is no correlation between the variables; in sexual satisfaction a low level
predominated (68.3%), in psychological well-being a high level (79.2%). In
addition, no significant differences were found in sexual satisfaction according to
the sex of the participants.

La satisfacción sexual ha sido conceptualizada como la etapa final del ciclo de
respuesta sexual y uno de los mayores generadores de placer, por otro lado, el
bienestar psicológico se entiende como la valoración que un individuo tiene sobre
su vida de acuerdo a sus experiencias positivas y negativas. El objetivo de este
estudio fue determinar la relación entre la satisfacción sexual y bienestar
psicológico en estudiantes universitarios.
La muestra utilizada fue de 120
estudiantes con un rango de edad entre 18 a 30 años de la Facultad de Ciencias
Humanas y de la Educación. La investigación tuvo un enfoque cuantitativo - no
experimental con corte transversal y alcance correlacional. Para medir las
variables se utilizaron La Nueva Escala de Satisfacción Sexual (NSSS) de
Stulhofer creada en el año 2010 y la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff
adaptada por Díaz en el año 2006 en España. Los resultados mostraron que no
hay correlación entre las variables; en la satisfacción sexual predominó un nivel
bajo (68.3%), en el bienestar psicológico un nivel alto (79.2%). Además, no se
encontraron diferencias significativas en la satisfacción sexual según el sexo de
los participantes.
