IMPULSIVIDAD Y SATISFACCIÓN SEXUAL EN ESTUDIANTES UNIVERSITARIOS

| dc.description | A pesar de considerarse a la sexualidad como aspecto importante en la vida del ser humano, en Latinoamérica existe un déficit de investigación actual en cuanto a la satisfacción sexual, por lo que esta investigación tiene como objetivo determinar la relación entre la impulsividad y la satisfacción sexual. El estudio incluye la participación de 300 estudiantes universitarios de la ciudad de AmbatoEcuador. Al ser esta una investigación de diseño no experimental, enfoque cuantitativo y alcance descriptivo correlacional, se aplicaron dos instrumentos psicométricos para medir las variables del estudio: la Escala de Impulsividad de Barratt (BIS-11) y la Nueva Escala de Satisfacción Sexual (NSSS). Los resultados muestran una correlación negativa baja entre las variables, lo que implica que los sujetos con una menor impulsividad reportan también una mayor satisfacción sexual. En cuanto a la impulsividad, la mayoría de la muestra presenta un nivel medio (45.3%) y reporta un alto nivel de satisfacción sexual (47%). Al realizar una comparación por sexo, las mujeres (M=62.2) reflejan un nivel de satisfacción sexual estadísticamente mayor que los hombres (M=59). Se concluye que un menor nivel de impulsividad contribuye a una mayor estabilidad promoviendo una vida sexual mas satisfactoria. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Although sexuality is considered an important aspect of human life, there is a lack of current research on sexual satisfaction in Latin America, therefore this research aims to determine the relationship between impulsivity and sexual satisfaction. The study includes the participation of 300 university students from the city of Ambato-Ecuador. Since this is a non-experimental design research, quantitative approach and descriptive correlational scope, two psychometric instruments were applied to measure the study variables: the Barratt Impulsivity Scale (BIS-11) and the New Sexual Satisfaction Scale (NSSS). The results show a low negative correlation between the variables, implying that subjects with lower impulsivity also report higher sexual satisfaction. Regarding impulsivity, the majority of the sample presents a medium level (45.3%) and reports a high level of sexual satisfaction (47%). When comparing by sex, women (M=62.2) reflect a statistically higher level of sexual satisfaction than men (M=59). It is concluded that a lower level of impulsivity contributes to a greater stability promoting a more satisfactory sexual life. | |
