Adaptive architecture and active aging maintain a close relationship, the present research aims to provide a comprehensive space that meets the specific needs of each older adult. The inductive and deductive methods were applied, along with a bibliographic review that made it possible to identify essential criteria for gerontological care, such as accessibility, safety, ergonomics, and spatial flexibility. These guidelines were complemented by semi-structured interviews conducted with key stakeholders, including medical staff, senior-care technicians, a parish board representative, and an external architect, this process played an important role in fostering social integration and provided first-hand insight into the needs of older adults. Additionally, case studies and a territorial diagnosis were carried out, considering geographic, demographic, and urban factors. The integration of these inputs revealed a significant correspondence between theoretical foundations and the real needs of the older population, establishing a solid methodological basis for the development of the preliminary design. The resulting proposal offers an adaptable and functional center organized by modular axes that structure public and private areas, as well as mobile elements that allow the spatial configuration to be modified according to the user activities. Likewise, the relationship between interior and exterior spaces is strengthened through therapeutic gardens, planters, and the use of traditional materials that reinforce local cultural identity. Finally, the project provides a contextual and technical solution aimed at promoting autonomy, social inclusion, and the overall wellbeing of older adults in Toacaso.
