Abstract
Intergenerational child labor represents a historical, cultural, and symbolic construct that allows
us to understand how this practice originates, is transmitted, and is perpetuated across
generations. The objective of this research was to analyze the generational patterns of child
labor among families participating in the ETI Project in the Izamba Parish. The study was
conducted using a qualitative approach, with the participation of three generations from 30
families in the project. The technique used was a semi-structured interview, consisting of 14
questions. To ensure the instrument's validity, it was reviewed by experts in the field. The
results showed how parenting styles, as well as the cultural and symbolic values attributed to
work from an early age, have shaped mechanisms of social reproduction that favor the
normalization of this practice, thus fostering its persistence and legitimization across the three
generations studied.

El trabajo infantil intergeneracional representa una construcción histórica, cultural y simbólica
que permite comprender las formas en que esta práctica se origina, transmite y perpetua a lo
largo de las generaciones. El objetivo de la investigación fue analizar los patrones
generacionales del Trabajo Infantil de las familias del Proyecto ETI de la Parroquia Izamba. El
estudio se realizó mediante un enfoque cualitativo, en el cual participaron tres generaciones de
30 familias del proyecto. La técnica utilizada fue la entrevista semiestructurada, conformada
por 14 preguntas, para garantizar la validación del instrumento fue revisado por parte de
expertos en el área. Los resultados evidenciaron como los patrones de crianza, así como los
valores culturales y simbólico atribuidos al trabajo desde edades tempranas, han constituido
mecanismos de reproducción social que favorecen la normalización de dicha práctica, lo cual
ha propiciado su persistencia y legitimación a través de las tres generaciones estudiadas
