| Abstract: | La presente investigación está enfocada en los gastos en defensa y seguridad y sus efectos en el narcotráfico en el Ecuador, la finalidad de este estudio es Establecer los efectos del gasto en defensa y seguridad en el narcotráfico en el Ecuador. El estudio es de carácter correlacional, además se trata de una investigación bibliográfica documental, basada en datos secundarios obtenidos a través de fuentes oficiales como el INEC y el Banco Central del Ecuador, para el análisis de los datos se aplicó un modelo de Mínimos Cuadrados Ordinarios (MCO). Por otra parte, como resultado más importante del gasto en defensa y seguridad y sus efectos en el narcotráfico en el Ecuador se encontró que cerca de 250 millones de personas consumen drogas en un rango de 15 y 64 años, así mismo, más de 29 millones de personas sufren de un desorden y cerca del 14 por ciento de esta población vive con VIH, concluyendo que el gasto en defensa y seguridad si presenta una relación significativa con las variables de control. |
| Description: | This present investigation focuses on defense and security spending and its effects on drug trafficking in Ecuador, the purpose of this study is to establish the effects of defense and security spending on drug trafficking in Ecuador. The study is of a correlational nature, it is also a documentary bibliographical research, based on secondary data obtained through official sources such as the INEC and the Central Bank of Ecuador, for the analysis of the data an Ordinary Least Squares model was applied. (OMC). On the other hand, as the most important result of spending on defense and security and its effects on drug trafficking in Ecuador, it was found that close to 250 million people consume drugs between the ages of 15 and 64, likewise, more than 29 million of people suffer from a disorder and close to 14 percent of this population lives with HIV, concluding that spending on defense and security does present a significant relationship with the control variables. |
