| Abstract: | El sector turístico permite el crecimiento y desarrollo económico de un territorio determinado, por medio del arribo de turistas la economía se dinamiza por el consumo de los diferentes productos turísticos que se ofertan, por esta razón, la presente investigación se enfoca en el turismo y su impacto económico en la provincia de Galápagos frente al virus SARS-COV 2. Para tal efecto, se realizó un análisis descriptivo de las variables de crecimiento económico desde el año 2009 al 2019, también se recopiló información de los arribos de turistas pre y durante la pandemia de la Covid-19 y los aspectos económicos más representativos. Además, se realizó un análisis explicativo en el cual se aplicó la metodología de Box-Jenkins para predecir de manera mensual el comportamiento de la demanda turística en la región Insular, en donde se eligió el modelo ARMA (2,6,10,12) (1,0,12) la cual presentaba mayor ajuste, precisión y eficacia para la predicción de la demanda turística en la provincia de Galápagos. |
| Description: | The tourism sector allows the growth and economic development of a given territory, through the arrival of tourists the economy is energized by the consumption of the different tourist products that are offered, for this reason, this research focuses on tourism and its economic impact in the province of Galapagos against the SARS-COV 2 virus. For this purpose, a descriptive analysis of the variables of economic growth from 2009 to 2019 was carried out, information was also collected on the arrivals of tourists before and during the Covid-19 pandemic and the most representative economic aspects. In addition, an explanatory analysis was carried out in which the Box-Jenkins methodology was applied to predict on a monthly basis the behavior of tourism demand in the Insular region, where the ARMA model (2,6,10,12) (1,0,12) was chosen, which presented greater adjustment, precision and effectiveness for the prediction of tourism demand in the province of Galapagos. |
