Abstract

Currently a high rate of patients with diabetic foot in the worldand Latacunga tripped is no exception, one of the main factors is the age of thepatient being more prone to an amputation older adults It is an obligation on the part of the nurse as well as the health personnel to give the correct information and to educate the patient in their self-care since most of these patients live in complete solitude. The ambulatory patients are the perfect entities to prevent the amputation of the lower limbs because if we know how to direct ourselves to them and give them correct information and proper care according to their pathology we can make the patient have a better quality of life The results obtained from the surveys carried out on patients with diabetic foot taken at random showed that in the General Hospital Latacunga the staff that attends to these patients is trained and provides adequate information to patients, despite this the majority of patients with foot diabetic patients do not go to their reviews having a much higher risk factor. The present research project has been elaborated in the General Hospital Latacunga, with the purpose of knowing the practices used in the valuation and the care of the diabetic foot to avoid future amputations
