Abstract: This research explores the relationship between the use of Listening journals and the intensive and extensive listening practice among students belonging to second level bachillerato at Unidad Educativa “Francisco Flor”. Listening Journals is a tool aimed to train student’s auditory system to learn to listen by using top-down as well as bottom- up processing skills to help them to build listening-comprehension skills. By the use of Listening journals students are exposed to authentic auditory input and in this way, they can work out and improve their listening skills and as a result, consolidate their vocabulary, enhance their speaking skills and acquire the language
