Abstract: The current research work aims to determine the impact of the Tri-Fold strategy in the reading skills of the English language in the students from the eighth year of Basic General Education, courses “A” and “B” at “Francisco Flor-Gustavo Egüez” High School. The Tri-Fold strategy permits students to design and to write all the information about a text. Moreover, the Tri-Fold strategy has three phases which help students to better comprehend any text that they must read. Descriptive and exploratory are the levels or types of research that this research work includes. Besides, to collect data about the research, it was necessary to apply a survey to 78 students. The results showed that the students do not apply any strategies while reading. Therefore, the Tri-Fold strategy needs to be implemented in the reading activities because it contributes in the reading skills’ development and in English language acquisition
