Abstract: The purpose of this research is to determine the use of lexical chunks in the oral skill development of the English language. This research has a qualitative approach since an interview with five questions and a survey consisting of ten questions were applied for both teachers and students. These techniques were applied among a group of 92 students of the ninth year of Educación General Básica and 2 English teachers. In addition, it is a field research because there was the author’s presence in the study field during the investigative process. Finally, the institutionalized expressions; such as, sentences headers and short expressions influence in the oral skill development in a positive way.
