Item type:Ítem, Aplicación de texturas en denim reciclado como recurso terapéutico para el bienestar emocional”(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL E INDUMENTARIA, 2026-07-06) ;Morales Urrutia Paola Estefania ;Sánchez Sailema Catalina ErikaUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO TEXTIL E INDUMENTARIAThis research explores the application of textures on recycled denim as a therapeutic tool aimed at promoting emotional well-being, recognizing the importance of developing textile design proposals that integrate sustainability, creativity, and sensory perception. The study was prompted by the growing volume of textile waste and the limited exploration of recycled denim as a medium for emotional expression within therapeutic design. The starting point was clear: to apply textures to recycled denim as a therapeutic resource to contribute to emotional well-being. The theoretical foundations of therapeutic design—specifically those related to sustainability and emotional perception—were reviewed. Work was also conducted directly on the material, employing various textile intervention techniques applied to recycled denim. The approach was qualitative and experimental. Observation and experimentation sheets were used to record what each texture produced visually, to the touch, and in expressive terms. The samples resulting from this process were organized into a textile catalog. The findings from the textile experimentation demonstrate that textures are capable of evoking quite specific emotions and sensory experiences. This highlights that recycled denim goes beyond its value as a sustainable material. As a tool for wellbeing, textile design has more to offer than has been explored so far.Item type:Ítem, Desarrollo de un Material en base a yeso reutilizado de moldes de impresión odontológica para aplicaciones en sectores productivos(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIAL, 2025-07-25) ;Pardo López Josué Alexander ;Monar Naranjo Martín BenancioUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE DISEÑO INDUSTRIALThis research addresses the problem of gypsum waste from dental impression moulds, a material that, despite its potential for reuse, is often discarded without proper treatment, generating negative impacts on the environment and public health. From an industrial design perspective, the development of a composite material made from recovered plaster, mixed with resin and fibreglass, is proposed for possible application in non-clinical production sectors. The methodological process included the collection, cleaning, grinding, calcination, and reprocessing of discarded gypsum, followed by the manufacture of test specimens subjected to tensile, impact, and flexural fatigue tests. The experimental results support the use of recycled dental gypsum as a viable resource in composite materials, especially in applications where impact resistance and resource sustainability are prioritised. This study validates the technical and environmental feasibility of reusing dental waste, proposing a sustainable model based on the principles of the circular economy. In addition, it promotes the implementation of accessible material recovery systems within dental clinics and laboratories, reducing operating costs and contributing to the reduction of hazardous waste. It is concluded that reused plaster represents an opportunity to innovate in clinical waste management, contributing both to environmental sustainability and to the diversification of industrial uses of the material, and laying the foundations for future regulations and applied research in the field of responsible design. Carrera de Espacios Arquitectónicos., 2017-09) ;Caicedo Salazar, SarahíCoral Hinojosa, Rafael SebastiánThe present research aims to study how to generate a suitable interior design for a traditional candy factory. The aim is to improve the production of toffee by complying with the regulations of the National Agency of Regulation, Control and Sanitary Vigilance (ARCSA), performing good hygiene practices for food processing establishments categorized as artisanal and organizations of the popular economy system and solidarity. Cultural identity establishes the development of a nation and the production of an architecture without character that shapes current areas of life, makes man lose his identity with his own environment, while emptying it of cultural stimuli. Therefore, interior design will be conceptualized from the cultural identity of the city of Baños de Agua Santa through a bibliographical and field research to determine the design parameters to implement in the candy factory. Results from surveys and observation sheets identified problems in the factory and customer perceptions of cultural identity. In the investigative process it is determined that nature is present in the progress of the city and the contribution of the care of it is relevant to not lose the characteristics of its natural environment. In fact, the most important characteristics for the proposal are achieved through the reuse of existing materials in space, complemented by the use of bamboo and volcanic stone. Carrera de Diseño de Modas., 2017-07) ;Castro Núñez, Pablo DanielGuamán LLamuca, Carlos AlbertoIn Ecuador, one of the wastes that could be used for recycling and which present an incorrect final disposition within the different cities are the tires out of use (NFU). At present, the absence of specific legislation and the lack of information among the various agents in the sector, such as the business sector, has meant that once the useful life of a tire has been reduced, only a limited percentage is recycled and used as raw material for other applications. That the rest has traditionally been deposited in landfills or simply accumulated without any control, with the consequent environmental risk. The lack of used tire recovery programs causes them to accumulate in the open air or in garbage dumps, being the perfect habitat for the proliferation of mosquitoes or other insects and also degrading the environment. All this problem gave way to the idea of developing an investigation that can counteract it with an effective remedy with the application of the Integrator Project that aims to analyze and quantify this problem within the city of Ambato and give an alternative to it that is framed in the Designed to develop creative proposals through the reuse of tires for the soles of shoes, this project will tackle one of the exits to the pressing problem of the increase of rubber waste due primarily to the growth of the car park in recent years. In fact the local market does not have a similar product, mainly because the companies dedicated to the shoemaking have not yet ventured into the reuse of tires for the use of this type of material in the soles of the shoes despite the great benefits they offer. Therefore, it would set a precedent for the companies dedicated to shoemaking to also enter into the reuse of tires specially focused on the production of footwear with this type of raw material reused that provides added value to their products.
