Item type:Ítem, Diseño de Anteproyecto Arquitectónico de Centro Cultural en el Cantón Cevallos, Tungurahua(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-06) ;Guaita Morales Andy Jose ;Heredia Gamboa AndrésUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO; FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis paper presents the preliminary architectural design for the Cultural Center of the Cevallos canton, Tungurahua province. Cevallos is a canton with a tradition in the footwear industry, fruit growing, and agritourism; however, it lacks sociocultural facilities for artistic creation and community engagement. This deficit excludes women, children, youth, and senior citizens due to the concentration of sports facilities in the area. The justification for this project rests on the 6.32% achievement of the sociocultural goals of the 2023-2027 Territorial Development Plan (PDOT) and the need to align cantonal planning with Sustainable Development Goal 11 of the 2030 Agenda, which focuses on inclusive and sustainable cities. The research adopts a qualitative approach with inductive logic, conceptualizing it within the principles of Frampton's (1983) critical regionalism and the analysis of cultural references at the international, national, and local levels. The techniques applied include field observation, interviews with local stakeholders, and a review of regulations that support the project. The operationalized variables encompass volumetric adaptation, vernacular materials, passive bioclimatic strategies, and universal accessibility. Ultimately, the resulting proposal consists of a preliminary design that integrates architectural plans, a functional program derived from the needs assessment, bioclimatic strategies, and spatial visualizations, all aimed at strengthening the sociocultural cohesion of the canton through architecture that engages with the Andean landscape, the topography of the site, and its local context..Item type:Ítem, Diseño de un anteproyecto de un centro cultural en la parroquia de Pilahuín del cantón Ambato(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO, FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA, CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2026-07-01) ;Ramirez Morales Justin Javier ;Heredia Gamboa AndrésUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO, FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA, CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis thesis develops the preliminary design of a community cultural center in the parish of Pilahuín, Ambato canton, based on a contemporary reinterpretation of vernacular construction principles. The study arises from the need for more suitable spaces for cultural, community, and educational activities, considering that the parish still maintains practices related to dance, gastronomy, reading, local memory, and the transmission of knowledge, although many of these activities still take place in insufficient or poorly conditioned spaces. The research followed a qualitative, design-oriented approach, combining direct observation, photographic documentation, precedent analysis, comparative lot assessment, and semi-structured interviews with actors linked to parish management, cultural promotion, territorial planning, and architecture. This process made it possible to identify the community’s spatial needs and the physical, territorial, and cultural criteria that should guide the proposal. The study also examined Pilahuín’s vernacular architecture, identifying principles such as stone bases, lighter upper systems, protective roofs, and intermediate spaces, later reinterpreted in the project without literally reproducing the traditional dwelling. As a result, the proposal includes reception, a multipurpose hall, an interior exhibition space, a dance workshop, a traditional cooking workshop, a reading and memory area, classrooms, administrative spaces, and active outdoor areas such as a courtyard, stepped seating, terraced gardens, and an accessible terrace, seeking a coherent relationship with the territory and the community life of Pilahuín.Item type:Ítem, Diseño arquitectónico de un centro cultural de recreación y ocio educativo en la parroquia de San Andrés del cantón Santiago de Píllaro(UNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURA, 2025-07-24) ;López Soria Jennifer Michelle ;Salcedo Landy Carlos AndrésUNIVERSIDAD TÉCNICA DE AMBATO FACULTAD DE DISEÑO Y ARQUITECTURA CARRERA DE ARQUITECTURAThis degree project develops the architectural design of a cultural center for recreation and educational leisure in the parish of San Andrés, located in the Santiago de Píllaro canton. Its purpose is to create a space that fosters the integral development of rural children and youth through activities that strengthen cultural identity, community participation, and experiential learning. The project addresses the need for inclusive infrastructures that interweave educational, recreational, and cultural dimensions from an intergenerational perspective. The research adopts a qualitative interpretative approach and is guided by grounded theory as its methodological framework. Techniques such as semi-structured interviews with key stakeholders, focus groups with youth of different age groups, architectural precedent analysis, and literature review were applied to identify relevant design tools for the rural context of San Andrés. The multi-source diagnosis made it possible to define spatial criteria such as functional flexibility, progressive appropriation, landscape integration, and passive environmental comfort strategies. The resulting architectural proposal organizes areas for leisure, learning, memory, and production, distributed through an adaptable modular system that responds to the site's topography and local cultural dynamics. The project is based on principles of architectural symbiosis and contextual mimesis, incorporating local materials, universal accessibility strategies, and open spatiality. It concludes that architecture, when integrated with the territory and community ways of life, can provide favorable environments for strengthening cultural bonds and exercising the right to educational leisure in rural contexts.
