    This research project analyses the influence of the interior spaces of the Jijón Caamaño y Flores Educational Unit in the San Miguel de Urcuquí district, examining the processes of teaching, learning and recreation. The research was conducted using a mixed-methods approach that combines technical measurements of ventilation, lighting, and thermal comfort with qualitative observations, spatial record sheets, and surveys completed by students, teachers, and administrative staff. The findings show that, although the institution maintains a strong pedagogical commitment and an educational culture based on values and respect, its interior spaces have environmental and functional limitations that affect the well-being and performance of users. The main findings are irregular levels of illuminance in many classrooms, inadequate ventilation in most areas, furniture with ergonomic deficiencies, and layouts that do not optimise collaboration. The perceptions of students and teachers point to the effects of the physical environment, which strongly impact motivation, concentration, and daily pedagogical dynamics. Based on the results, a catalogue of interior design guidelines was developed based on the diagnosis, organised into architectural, ergonomic, functional and pedagogical areas. This catalogue is therefore an applied and scalable product containing technical criteria, graphic diagrams and guidelines that help to optimise interior spaces without major structural interventions. It serves as a framework for continuous process improvement, contributing to enhancing the quality of educational environments and students' learning experiences.

    This research presents a preliminary architectural design proposal for the elementary school buildings of the Luis A. Martínez High School, located in the city of Ambato. The project arises from the need to renovate learning environments that no longer respond to contemporary pedagogical approaches or to the sensory and developmental needs of children. The study is grounded in the principles of sensory architecture, which understand space as an active component in learning one that influences concentration, emotional balance, social interaction, and overall student well-being. The project is motivated by several deficiencies observed in the existing infrastructure: insufficient natural ventilation, limited spatial adaptability, inadequate lighting, and a weak relationship between indoor and outdoor learning areas. To address these issues, the proposal incorporates bimodal classrooms that can be connected through movable acoustic panels, a creative laboratory for hands-on exploration, an edible garden functioning as a living learning environment, and green sensory zones that complement academic activities. Additionally, the design includes a new circulation corridor that links the blocks and improves the flow of students, along with a color-based signage system that enhances orientation and promotes autonomy. Methodologically, the study adopts a qualitative approach, combining field observation, semi-structured interviews, regulatory analysis, and a review of architectural precedents relevant to educational settings. These tools made it possible to understand the real needs of the school community and to define strategies aligned with current educational practices. The resulting proposal envisions a flexible, healthy, and nature-integrated educational environment that enhances daily experiences for both students and teachers.

    Rediseño de espacios interiores y su influencia en los procesos de aprendizaje del Centro Educativo “Numa Pompilio Llona” en la ciudad de Latacunga

    El presente proyecto de investigación tiene como finalidad el estudio de los espacios interiores del Centro Educativo “Numa Pompilio Llona” ubicado en Latacunga, el objetivo de este análisis es mejorar las condiciones de cada espacio identificando la problemática, para que de esta manera el espacio en donde el estudiante aprende sea óptimo, para esto fue necesario realizar una investigación de los entornos educativos que sean adecuados, cómodos, que consideren a la población para cual se va a diseñar y tomando en cuenta su forma de aprender. La investigación toma en cuenta las entrevistas a los docentes, profesionales en diseño, psicólogos, esto ha servido como aporte en la investigación y la elaboración de la propuesta, además, se realizan fichas de observación con el fin de tener un punto de vista diferente al de los niños y docentes. De igual forma se realizan mediciones de cada espacio educativo, fotografías, observaciones que se evidencia las condiciones poco favorables que se encuentran las aulas de la institución, por lo que esto genera problemas en el aprendizaje de los estudiantes. Por lo tanto, se plantea una propuesta de intervención en las áreas interiores, exteriores y mobiliario generando ambientes que motiven el aprendizaje.

    El desarrollo Institucional de una Escuela Especializada depende de amplios factores tanto espaciales y sociales, la presente investigación recopila información de los factores que afectan el desarrollo Institucional, de forma que al realizar dicho análisis podremos crear soluciones mediante el Diseño Interior que lograran crear un vínculo entre el factor social y las instalaciones interiores. La presente investigación se basa en modelos institucionales para crear una propuesta que pueda ser usadas de una forma estándar en espacios educativos especializados, de esta forma se promueva la inclusión y el desarrollo de personas con discapacidad. Mediante el proyecto de investigación se propone la creación de aulas de clase tipo que puedan ser usadas de manera estándar y que contenga tanto mobiliario como el espacio físico adecuado para que brinde confort y promueva la inclusión de personas discapacitadas.El proyecto promueve el desarrollo estudiantil y la inclusión ciudadana, como lo menciona en sus normativas de escuelas del milenio y escuelas especiales. Los beneficiarios serán principalmente los alumnos y esto conllevara que el ambiente en la institución de alumnos y maestros sea mejor, además que el impacto que se trata de crear es positivo y ayudar de manera proyectual a la institución.
