    Diseño Arquitectónico para la Recuperación del Complejo Turístico en el cantón Pujilí

    This project addresses the architectural intervention of the Sinchaguasín Tourist and Recreational Complex, located in the canton of Pujilí, Ecuador. The facility currently presents physical deterioration, deficient infrastructure, and weak integration with its surroundings, resulting in a decline in visitors and the underuse of the site despite its landscape potential and strategic location. The research is justified by the need to strengthen the canton’s tourism offer through an equipped facility capable of boosting the local economy, improving accessibility, diversifying activities, and preserving the cultural and environmental value of the area. The general objective proposes a sustainable urban–architectural design based on an analysis of the natural and functional context. The methodology follows a qualitative approach, integrating documentary review, multiscale territorial analysis (macro–meso–micro), architectural surveying, site diagnosis, and interviews with key stakeholders. These tools established the design criteria focused on passive strategies, landscape integration, universal accessibility, programmatic functionality, and local identity. Based on these principles, the architectural proposal structures the complex through differentiated functional zoning, including reception areas, active recreation spaces, thermal facilities, terraces, and complementary areas, all articulated by pedestrian circulation systems and green infrastructure strategies. The project incorporates the typological reinterpretation of traditional construction systems and the use of local materials, consolidating the complex as a strategic tourism facility for the canton.
