    El oligopolio del sector curtiembre CIIU: C151101 y la rentabilidad de las empresas en el Ecuador

    This research project seeks to identify the companies with the highest market concentration in the tanning and dressing sector in Ecuador, to describe the behavior of the profitability indicators of the four most representative companies in the sector and to interpret the relationship between the market concentration and the profitability of the oligopoly registered in the sector. The study is carried out through the structuring of five linear regression econometric models, which analyze the relationship between oligopoly profitability and market concentration, GDP growth rate and production costs. According to this, tests of suitability of the models such as the Ramsey RESET test, the nonlinearity test and the Collinearity test were carried out using the Inflation Factor of Variance. The investigation concluded that the leather tanning and marinating sector is concentrated and exerts market power, identifying an oligopoly formed by the companies: Curtiduría Tungurahua S.A., Servicueros S.A., Curtiembre Renaciente S.A. And Tenería San José.

    Estudio comparativo del comportamiento financiero de los oligopolios del ensamblaje y fabricación de aparatos electrónicos de consumo (CIIU 2640) en el Ecuador

    In the present investigation, a comparative financial analysis of oligopolies in the sector of assembly and manufacture of consumer electronic equipment CIIU C2640.04 was carried out in Ecuador with the fundamental objective of studying the strategies of growth and market concentration. Through the use of the Herfindahl index, the level of Market Concentration was measured by means of the profitability indicators of the Financial Statements. Profitability was measured and to measure Business Growth, an analysis was made of each of the Sales, Production, Fixed Assets, Indebtedness and Equity in conjunction with the use of horizontal analysis. The most important result is that the presence of a duopoly in the sector of amplifiers for musical instruments and public address systems is established; microphones; Hearing aids (for radios, stereophonic equipment, computers); Speakers, CIIU C2640.04 loudspeaker systems and it is verified that PROAUDIO ANDRADE DURAN is the strongest in comparison to other companies.

    Análisis comparativo del comportamiento financiero de los oligopolios en el Ecuador

    The main purpose of this research was to create different strategies for the growth in the market in the field of comparative financial analysis of oligopolies in Ecuador. Using the Herfindahl index market concentration we measured the profitability for the indicators of Financial Statements Profitability and measuring business growth. Using an analysis of each of the areas Sales, Production, Fixed assets, Debt and Equity in conjunction with the use of horizontal analysis. The result of the research was that the presence of duopoly established within the manufacturing of food products sector in Ecuador and to also verify that the sector of processing of refining cane sugar and cane molasses, sugar beet, etc., is the stronger compared to other sectors. In conclusion in our research we found that the two sectors are concentrated thus this structures are imperfect in the market. The milk and sugar sectors as business have a growth which can be observed in the businesses sector of milk, meanwhile within the field of sugar surpasses other companies that are being part of the mayor profitable sector.
