    The competences of the accountant is the basic part for a job performance, because it refers to the area which an accountant can perform according to the knowledge gotten in their classrooms or acquired by years of experience, this helps to achieved the goals set by public companies, supporting the progress of the organizations and the country. The present project entitled "The competencies of the accountant and its performance in the public companies of Ambato" comes up to analyze if the competences of the accountant have correlation with its performance, for this we got the information through a survey applied to 90 accountants who work in companies, we have a documental bibliographical methodology, with a research modality (survey), which contained questions that we need to get real information about what they know, think and judge for this investigation. In fact, this research worked directly with the accountants of the public companies of the province of Tungurahua, which try to make better innovation in its competencies and work performance, these achievements are reflected in a good application of labor requirements with the purpose to provide the needs of enterprises.

    This research comes from the study of administrative management and see how this addresses the act of human talent DEMACO CIA. LTDA through job performance; whereas the knowledge era da toe toward finding tools to improve business management. The design of the balanced scorecard as a management tool, allows the planning, operation and control of the activities, processes and positions in order to organize the company in addition to the same tool will lead to efficient communication, as it maintain a solid information to help us make decisions, so that success lies in a defined organization, the power of anticipation, initiative and timely shift reaction. Because of this it is important to know the business maintains and presents the benefits and generate the design and implementation of the Balanced Scorecard, so it is necessary for all levels of the organization, not only provide support but is involved irresponsible communication in fulfillment of the mission, vision, goals, policies and strategies, so that in this way the implementation of the stated objectives of the organization is achieved way.
