Unemployment and underemployment are variables in the development of the economic cycle that greatly affect the living conditions of the population. Such living conditions can be expressed through the ability of an economy to cope with adverse events and especially finance social and economic development of its population. The presence of unemployment and underemployment in the economic behavior of society brings with it social and psychological collateral damage, since these aspects considerable merit in the long term for the same company expenses. The ratio of unemployment and underemployment regarding the living conditions of the population proposes the interaction of multiple social and economic factors that through this study seeks to propose actions to counteract the negative effects of economic cycles. This research aims to determine the impact of unemployment and underemployment in the living conditions of the urban population of Ecuador during 2007 to 2014, through eight econometric linear regression models that describe the behavior of GDP, Real wages, poverty and inequality in unemployment and underemployment function registered during the aforementioned period.
