Las salvaguardias y el producto interno bruto en el sector económico agrícola del Ecuador

This project is about the analysis of the impact of the creation of safeguards in the agricultural sector of Ecuador, which were created with the intention to protect the local industry, for which the variables of gross domestic product and safeguards were used. The data used in this project are taken from the Central Bank of Ecuador, in which a linear regression analysis with the above variables was performed. In addition, it took into account the variation of imports of the agricultural sector of Ecuador in the prior and subsequent to the application of safeguards period may notice that the application of safeguards has been effective, reducing imports in the agricultural sector of Ecuador and increasing the variable of gross domestic product. Before application of safeguards, production is decreasing and after the application of these protectionist measures, production in the agricultural sector of Ecuador is growing. On the other hand, the model was run with the method of ordinary least squares to know what percentage of relationship between variables obtaining a strong relationship between them, accepting the alternative hypothesis which tells us that the application of protectionist measures influencing the growth of gross domestic product.
